RAM is a key component of any server. It is the component that is most frequently modified in devices and the easiest to use. While the clocking alone will affect the fastest possible data reading, it is not the only feature of the dice you should consider. Which server RAM parameters matter for servers and workstations:
number of RANK - whether the memories are single rank, dual rank, quad rank or octo rank. In older solutions, the maximum was determined by the processor used. In newer ones, it affects the occupancy within the memory bank and the maximum frequency of the server.
Memory type - What kind of memory do we have in the server - UDIMM with ECC, RDIMM or LRDIMM? The most important rule in memory is not to mix different generations or memory types together.
